Coming Home

We will be leaving for home late this evening! We have had such a great trip here in India!
I will post when we get home!

We spent the day on Tuesday touring Delhi.

We have the golden packet!! Maya is so tired from her day at the embassy!

Soon, we will be leaving the hotel for the airport.

We had a wonderful stay here at the Oberoi. The staff has been so great to all of us!!

Some of the staff is still here from the first time we stayed here with Devan and they

remember him!! He has had a grand time here and they treated him like a king!!

We'll write more from Delhi.

Enjoying Kolkatta

We are really enjoying our week here in Kolkatta. It has been really hot. We have only been going out in the mornings and evenings. Maya loves being outside. She loves the front carrier and gets excited when we put her in it. Today, we had Maya's visa pictures taken. As you all know..Maya is my first daughter, after having all boys, so I only brought her pink clothes. Well,

for visa pictures, she was supposed to have something darker, (BK and I did not no this). So, the photographer suggested that we put Devan's shirt on her. If she wouldn't had a hair clip in her hair, she would've been mistaken for a boy. After, the pictures were done..BK was not satisfied, so we waked to Westside and bought her a cute little blue shirt. The new visa pictures are adorable. We did buy the sheet with her wearing Devan's shirt. The photographer than asked BK if I was adopting Maya from him. BK laughed and said we were married and both of us were adopting Maya. We went to the Victoria Memorial and just took a few pictures.

In the evening, BK's neice and nephew came to the hotel and we went to McDonalds on Park Street. This is brand new to Kolkatta and there was a line to get inside a block long outside. I guess it's going over well.

Maya conts. to be doing well. She is sound asleep right next to me. She is such a joy to all of us!!

Maya's been with us for almost 24 hours

Maya is still doing really well. She is sleeping well. Eating all the time. This noon she ate 2 bowls of lentils and rice. She has been eating the rice cereal I brought. She really likes her bottle.

She loves going outside in her front carrier. She just looks and looks!

She's getting tired now. Her thumb went into her mouth and she layed down on her tummy on the floor.

It's time for all of us to take a nap!

We Have Maya

I am going to brag!! Maya is doing great with us. She is so content, happy, smiling all the time!
She hasn't cried once...since we picked her up 5 hours ago.
We arrived at the orphanage at around 2:15 p.m. We went over our paper work with Anju Roy.
She stood up and said she was now going to get Atmoja. An Ayah soon walked in with her. She was all smiles and kept on going "ow, ow" She came to me right away and snuggled right into me. What a great feeling!! She went to BK right away and started owing with him. We spent alot of time in her nursery. The babies get such wonderful care!! Her ayah is so special!
After saying good bye..we went back to the hotel. She just looked and looked out the taxi window. She fell asleep right before we reached the hotel. But, as soon as I layed her down, she woke up and just wanted to play. She missed her afternoon nap, so we thought she should sleep.
She did fall asleep in my arms and slept probably for 3 hours. I woke her!!
She is eating well. Took a bowl of rice cereal and drank a bottle for me.
She loves her thumb. She follows her Daddy around with her eyes,
Right now she just stood up by herself in the middle of the floor. She is playing so nicely with her toys.
I can't believe that we have Maya. It was a long journey!! But, sure worth it!!
God is so Good!!
I'm going to play now with my precious Maya!!

4 hours until Maya meets her forever family

In 4 hours we will be picking up Maya. I can hardly wait. Of course, I didn't sleep last night.

Devan is having a great time!! He loves playing with his cousins. He thinks the taxi rides are

so much fun! Last evening as we were driving...he said yellow means slow down(the stoplights),

but the driver always speeds up as soon as the light turns yellow. The traffic is wild here. Riding in a taxi is like going to an amusement park.

I will post again after I have Maya in our arms!

Devan is being treated like a prince at the hotel..as you can see in the photo above.

BAY BLADES

Besides wanting to come to India to pick up his little sister,
Devan really wanted to come to India for Bay Blades!!

We're in Calcutta, India

We have been in Calcutta for almost 16 hours now.
We're all pretty tired.
We were met at the airport by all of BK's sisters.
Everyone piled into one vehicle and we went to the hotel. Devan and I stayed
at the hotel and slept while BK went to his family home.
We are staying at the Oberoi and it is beautiful, some of the staff remembers Devan
from previous times we have stayed here.
In the evening we met another couple and their beautiful baby Jaya! They are also
from Dillon and picked their baby up yesterday. She's a doll!! They were able to see
Maya and tell her that we would be there in 3 days. They also took some pictures for us!
After visiting with them, we did a little shopping and we than went to BK's family home.
Like I said we're all pretty tired...so I'll post more later.

UP, UP and AWAY!!!

In 5 hours we will be on the plane for our long trip to India.

Devan is very excited and was up early to leave. He can't wait to pick up his baby sister!!

Leaving in 4 days!!

I am busy packing today!!

I have Devan and Maya's suitcase packed. I am working on mine now.

I just checked my e-mail and I received some new pictures that were taken

less than a week ago by Kristi (Daya's mom).

Kristi commented that Maya is a well adjusted baby and is a very noisy baby in a happy way!!

8 more days and I will be holding my Maya!!

Devan is trying to hide his little brother, Chetan in the luggage so he can come with us to India to pick up Maya.
